Thyssen Mining has an obligation to ensure that all our employees, staff and visitors are properly protected.  By ensuring each person is offered the opportunity to access, use and understand the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Thyssen Mining will be able to protect our greatest asset, our employees.

Each Thyssen Mining employee will be given the appropriate training for standard PPE.  This is to include, but is not limited to, safety glasses, hard toed boots, hardhat, gloves and so forth.  It is the responsibility of all employees to participate, acknowledge and demonstrate they understand how and when to use the appropriate standard PPE.

Each Thyssen Mining employee will be given the appropriate training for specialized PPE.  This is to include, but is not limited to, fall protection equipment, respiratory equipment, chemical handling equipment and so forth.  It is the responsibility of all employees to participate, acknowledge and demonstrate they understand how and when to use the appropriate specialized PPE.

Standard PPE will be available to employees; specialized equipment will also be provided upon request.  Employees are required to utilize PPE as instructed and replace worn or damaged PPE as trained. 

Utilization of PPE is a requirement for all jobs at any Thyssen Mining Project.  Failure to wear the appropriate PPE not only compromises your safety but the safety of others and the viability of the Company.
