Training Coordinator

Thyssen Mining is currently looking for an experienced person to participate in the development of the Safety management program and worker training, mining equipment & mining methodology, as well as ensuring such training is performed and validated in the field.

Responsibilities:

-          Provide leadership for developing and directing training initiatives for TMCC mining employees

-          Design, Develop and deliver training programs

-          Assess the skill level, performance and competence of each learner

Skills & Experience:

-          Grade 12 Diploma or Technical Diploma or certification

-          Experience operating surface and underground mobile equipment

-          5 years experience in a mine environment with a solid track record of having trained workers in safe operation techniques and safety culture

-          Experience assessing training needs, creating training materials to fulfill those needs and delivering the training

-          Ability to create high quality presentations using a variety of technologies including Windows based computers and Microsoft Office applications

-          Demonstrated ability to train, coach, evaluate and improve others

This position works a 2 weeks in, 2 weeks out rotation at a remote mine site.

Human Resources Administrator Term Position

 Thyssen Mining is a full-service underground mining contractor with several projects in Canada and the USA. Thyssen currently has a vacancy for a term position as a Human Resources Administrator at its head office in Regina, SK.

 

The Human Resources Administrator will assist the Human Resources department in dealing with all levels of the company and provide support in a variety of HR disciplines and functions. The successful candidate will deal with diverse HR and payroll issues in a variety of regulatory environments in both Canada and the USA.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Human Resources background that comprises both education and job experience;
  • An undergraduate degree in HR, with 3- 5 years relevant experience;
  • An ability to work with a high degree of discretion and complete confidentiality;
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • An ability to work with Microsoft Office programs;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Reliability, enthusiasm and the ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment are essential.
